I have written more than 30 books, though I am listed as the author for about 20 of them. Published in Singapore, some of my books have reached Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and other countries in Southeast Asia. You can see the list below.
The serious desire to write books began in upper secondary school. At 16 years of age, I dreamt of writing serious non-fiction books with titles like The Cry Of History. But I have not attempted writing this book. In fact, I will claim that I have only achieved writing about 5% of the books that I envision writing. Yes, so many more books have yet to be written. I wonder whether I will write and publish at least 50% of them by the time of my death. Time will tell.
I must admit that at 16, I was not skilled at writing. Yet I was dreaming of becoming a writer. It was only after I started diary writing at 18/19 that I learned how to write sentences and paragraphs. Within months, my General Paper (an English subject at Cambridge AS Level) score improved. So, I brought my diary everywhere I went everyday. My advice to both students and adults, if they want to improve in their language skills, is to write a diary regularly.
Everyday, we are bombarded with thousands of thoughts. When we write a sentence, this action pushes away all thoughts except for just one line of thought. As you write more and more sentences, it sharpens your ability to focus on one single line of thought. Gradually, your single line of thought penetrates the subject matter in a deep way and insights, old and new, offer themselves to you. With time, your thinking on many a subject takes place at a speed much faster than some of your peers. If this happens, don't show this off. Just reveal only a part of the insights you have gained so that your abilities do not stick out for all to see. Why? Trust me that this is the best way.
I encourage everyone to write. You will learn so much about the world, yourself, the people around you and if you choose to see what is truly important, you will find the meaning of life and the straight path. When you have discovered these, alhamdulillah, you have discovered the ways of truth. A new journey will begin. What you have gained cannot be purchased. This is Type 3 Knowledge.
Anyway, here are some books I have written. I still have a long way to go in writing the books I envision. These books below make up my first phase. May God help me write, publish and distribute the envisioned books. Ameen.
