Throughout the years, from my late twenties to the present, some people become a little confused as to what I am all about. Not most people of course, but the few people I have met and interacted with throughout the years. Initially, some may think that I am not focussed, but when they get to know me, they know that I am actually very focussed. Repeated sales or request for service is an indicator. However, my life story so far seems improbable covering 3 industries – education, publishing and media. Actually, there is really only one industry, and it is education; publishing and media are satellites revolving round it.
So, as I start to explain a point and refer to an example or event from another industry and then yet another industry, people become confused. And so, to reduce the need to explain and explain, I can say, "If you are really keen to know, do visit my website." This website is still in progress. There are still many, more things to add. I must say that the 3 decades that have passed gave me life experiences in such a unique way that perhaps for many others, it would take several lifetimes. Alhamdulillah. Allah has been very kind and merciful to me.
For more than a decade, I did not want to reveal many things in my past. The confusion could cause me losses in terms of consultancy and other possible earnings – that was what I thought back then. Furthermore, I sometimes felt embarrassed. But as I grow older and turned 56 (that's closer to 60!) in July 2026, I realised that there isn't enough time. It is best that I kept an account of things as they are realised. Perhaps when the last moments come, I cannot produce such an account. In anticipation of the end which can take place at any time, I have purchased this domain until 2036, with the hope that my website is floating in the web for a good period of time after my demise.
As the producer and director of Biography Singapore, I know the value of biography and autobiography; they contain nuggets of insights and knowledge that come from the 3 domains of knowledge – Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3. But we humans treasure biographical accounts mostly for Type 2 Knowledge, Street Wisdom. And so, nuggets of street wisdom can be extracted from true and sincere life stories. How then can I not leave behind some account of my life?
Since the age of 18, I have kept a record of many things that have happened in diaries like the one above. Perhaps I have 100 diaries today. One day, I will extract the relevant information of my life and burn them all after doing so, Insha Allah. Only God knows what will happen to all of us.
